SICK — Safety Controllers
The SICK PL20M is a modular programmable safety controller designed to replace complex safety relay arrays with a single flexible platform. It supports up to 128 safety I/O points via pluggable modules for digital inputs, outputs, test signal outputs, and safe analog inputs for pressure-sensitive mats and light curtains. The controller is programmed using the intuitive SICK Safety Designer software with pre-validated function blocks for common safety functions including emergency stop, guard door monitoring, two-hand control, and light curtain muting. Safe fieldbus communication via PROFIsafe, CIP Safety, or EtherCAT FSoE enables integration with higher-level safety PLCs for coordinated machine safety across multiple zones.
