Pilz — Safety Controllers
The Pilz PNOZ m Multi is a modular safety controller platform designed for medium to large-scale safety applications requiring flexible expansion and network connectivity. The base unit serves as the central processing module, evaluating up to 40 safe input signals locally and thousands more across expanded safety networks. Communication modules for EtherCAT, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, and CANopen enable seamless integration into standard automation networks while maintaining safety integrity up to SIL 3 / PL e. The system supports advanced safety functions including safe speed monitoring (SS1, SS2, SLS, SOS) when connected with compatible safe drive interfaces, as well as safe I/O linking between multiple PNOZ m controllers for coordinated machine line safety. The web-based PNOZmulti Configurator includes certified function blocks for common safety applications, reducing validation and approval paperwork requirements.
