Siemens — Variable Frequency Drives
The Siemens Sinamics G120 is a modular AC drive system consisting of Power Modules (PM) and Control Units (CU) that can be mixed and matched to exactly fit the application requirements. Power Modules range from 0.37 kW to 250 kW with book-size or chassis formats, while Control Units offer different fieldbus interfaces and application-specific firmware. The G120 supports sensorless vector control, V/F control, and closed-loop vector control with encoder feedback. Integrated safety functions include Safe Torque Off (STO), Safe Stop 1 (SS1), and Safely Limited Speed (SLS) certified to SIL 3. The BOP-2 operator panel and SINAMICS Startdrive engineering tool in TIA Portal simplify commissioning and diagnostics.
